Since autumn 2018, the 2.4-metre tall bronze sculpture Culture Wolf has been standing in front of Nordic Hotel Forum in Viru Square in Tallinn. The wolf is the mascot of the Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) and has been selected the national animal of Estonia. The bronze figure of the wolf symbolises the cultural patronage of Nordic Hotel Forum and the Merko Group, which is expressed in long-time support to many cultural projects, including the Black Nights Film Festival. The howl of the lone female wolf at full moon, which is embodied in the figure created by Simson von Seakyll, speaks about the individualism of the local people, but the wolf is also a social animal, as nothing will succeed without cooperation.

This is one of many projects through which Merko and main shareholders of the company have contributed to society.
