The main measures of renovation and extension of water supply and waste water treatment systems to be financed according to the  European Union Structural Assistance Operational Programme for Promotion of Cohesion for 2007–2013 are modernisation and extension of infrastructure meant for public water supply and waste water treatment (waste water collection, transportation, treatment, discharge, metering, control, primary management of silt and waste generating in the course of waste treatment), extension of surface waste water treatment infrastructure,  development of the infrastructure of treatment of silt generating in the course of waste treatment. “Development of main water supply and waste water networks in Avižieniai Subdistrict (Užubaliai, Klevinė, Raisteniškės and Bendoriai)” was one of the parts of the project. 5,216 km of new water supply networks, 5,945 km of new waste water networks, 3 new waste water pumping stations were constructed in the course of implementation of the contract for works.
