Before this construction contract was performed, the system for diverting runoff in Aruküla was practically non-functional – in some places there was approx. 40-60 cm of standing water in spring. In the course of the construction work, perforated drainage pipelines were installed in a semi-circle in Lepa, Männiku, Kaasiku and Jaama streets. These pipelines collect surface water and storm water, reouting these into the nearby drainage ditches. For this reason, the drainage ditches were cleaned of brush and deepened, the culverts were renovated and drains were installed.
