Ethical business practices
Ethical practices and business integrity are important to us. By adhering to high ethical principles, we promote profitable growth, win the trust of our stakeholders, and support fair competition and equal treatment.
We expect our employees, customers and partners to follow ethical business practices in their daily work. Potential or actual unethical behaviour must be reported in order to prevent it continuing and causing harm to the company.
ESG Policy
The subject of ESG is embedded throughout the group’s values and activities and fulfilment of ESG requirements is part of the strategic and compliance management of the group. We manage, measure and control ESG topics the same way as other business activities.
The ESG approach consists of three large blocks:

Employees
The Merko Ehitus Group employs a total of nearly 700 people in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Norway, including office staff, project managers and site teams. Experienced professionals in their field are a key value of the company. We develop responsible management; our HR policy supports the achievement of the company’s goals and we treat our employees as partners.
The environment
The environmental management system of the Group’s companies complies with the ISO 14001 standard. We assess the environmental impact of projects and organise waste management on construction sites, paying attention to sorting waste and partnering only with appropriately licensed waste disposal services.
Support projects
We consider it important to contribute to society. In sponsorship, we focus on long-term support projects: we create opportunities for recreational sports, enhance urban space, encourage education and future generations, preserve culture and artistic heritage, and help those in need.
